Paddy Power

Paddy Power are one of our favourite bookmakers and it’s a real joy to have an account with this firm ahead of Euro 2012, with some great money back specials already being announced. They score highly across the board, whether it’s their competitive odds, the vast range of markets on a whole host of sports or their excellent award-winning customer service which is available on a 24/7 basis. They also have a generous £250 free bet offer available for new customers which is easy to qualify for.

Paddy Power constantly strive to offer bigger value than their competitors, so you will see them paying out each-way on six places for events like the Grand National, the golfing majors and several other sporting events throughout the calendar year. They also have the cashback specials which involve customers getting stakes refunded if a particular player scores last in a soccer match. In short, they are an excellent bookmaker and it’s hard to find a fault.

You can get an amazing £250 free when you join Paddy Power today. This offer is not advertised on the Paddy Power website.

Paddy Power have been established since 1988 and are currently Ireland’s largest bookmaker, not to mention one of the largest players in the UK. They are fast gaining a reputation for adding real fun to placing a bet, not to mention value with their notoriously early pay-outs to customers and the cashback specials that you may have seen advertised on television.

Although widely respected as a bookmaker, they have something of a controversial opinion within the betting industry due to a number of close-to-the-bone marketing campaigns and their tendency to pay out on outcomes before an event has even been settled. However, this has seen them grow in popularity and it’s refreshing to see a bookmaker stand out from the crowd.

Odds and Markets

Paddy Power’s odds are generally very good, especially when it comes to football betting. These guys are unafraid of taking a position on a big football or rugby match, especially one concerning England or Ireland (where the majority of their customers are based). Their money-back offers should also be applauded, especially as they always provide realistic outcomes (such as cashback if Rooney scores the last goal for England).

They also end up paying out early on their antepost markets, with the Irish firm nearly always deciding to settle the Premier League, La Liga or Scottish Premier League winner’s market before the result is mathematically assured. They are also outstanding when it comes to offering better each-way value than their competitors, regularly paying an extra place when it comes to the big horse races or golf events. For big racing meetings like the Cheltenham Festival, they will regularly put their neck on the lines and offer to pay out losing stakes if the favourite wins.

The Paddy Power website is quick, clean and easy-to-use. They have one of the easiest sign-up processes in the industry and finding your bet is a pretty straightforward process. The Irish firm provide humorous editorial to accompany many of their homepage-featured markets, while the theme continues with their entertaining customer emails. However, there’s some serious attention to detail when it comes to the structure of the website, which sees the sports listed in A-Z order in the left-hand menu, with some sports provided in Quick Links above this.

Live betting has a section of its own which can be accessed from the left-hand menu or the live matches that are advertised in the middle of the homepage. It’s a pretty decent offering which highlights odds in red when they are shortening and odds in blue when a team or player is on the drift. There is also a useful panel on the right-hand side which summarises the events that are live now and the ones that are taking place soon. In addition, there is live streaming of many sports available and a novel Last Man Standing competition on the Premier League.

Customer Service

The customer service at Paddy Power is excellent and gets full marks. They are totally transparent by illustrating their support response times on the site and have a 15 second response time for telephone, a 21 second response time for live chat and 36 minutes is the average time that the Irish firm take to respond to your query. Queries are always handled efficiently and the staff there are well-mannered and polite.
