Spain play Ireland in Euro 2012 Group C tonight.
Spain have doubts over midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who picked up a thigh injury during their opening group game against Italy.
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque left striker Fernando Torres on the bench for Sunday's 1-1 draw and started that game with an attacking line featuring Fabregas and fellow midfielders Andres Iniesta and David Silva.
Del Bosque has defended his tactics and earlier this week told Spanish radio it was "possible we’ll play the same way," but if Fabregas misses out then Torres could start up front.
Republic of Ireland are confident defender Richard Dunne will be fit to play despite missing Monday's training session with blisters.
Kevin Doyle could be dropped, with Jon Walters possibly starting up front.
This is only the second time the two nations have met at a major tournament. Their only previous meeting was at the last 16 stage of 2002 World Cup, which Spain won on penalties, and the Irish know they must get a result against the European champions to avoid elimination again.
